The Fraunhofer Society awards prizes all year round for outstanding contributions to science. In order to present the research project for this year’s prize-winner, four films have been produced by KUK to be shown during the prize ceremony and on the Fraunhofer website.
To demonstrate the noise control measures taken by Deutsche Bahn, KUK Film worked together with the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute to produce an interactive media station and a 180° panoramic film.
On behalf of the agency commotion, Essen, we designed the feed for 10 innovation towers on the John Deere stand at AGRITECHNICA 2013.
The innovation towers consist of 70” displays, which thanks to their size and vertical image format, show off the new John Deere products in an exceptional manner.
At the Corporate Media 2013/14 competition, the SIEMENS TIA PORTAL 3D film received two awards: the Award of Master and the Jury's Award for exemplary use of 3D technology.
The award was presented as part of the Media Night on 6th December in Ludwigsburg, and was received together with representatives of SIEMENS AG.
We produced two videodocumentaries for Bayerische Energieagentur ENERGIE INNOVATIV, that cover the topic of energetic modernisation of residential buildings.
The Fraunhofer HHI received the 3D Technology Award "Innovation of the Year Award 2013" for its TimeLab and the OmniCam. The Prize was awarded in the Paramount Studios, Hollywood on September, 18th. We congratulate Christian Weissig and his team, who received the "Lumiere" statue as representative for the team.
The MUSCADE consortium organized a workshop on March 21st 2013 to show the final outcomes of the project and demonstrate new technologies to the public. It took place at the 3D Innovation Center in Berlin and was organized by the MUSCADE consortium together with Fraunhofer HHI and the EBU (European Broadcasting Union).
Mid 2012 the research project ASP was launched, subsidised by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. In this project, the partners Fraunhofer Institutes IIS and HHI, Carl Zeiss AG, P+S Technik and KUK Filmproduktion GmbH will develop a small, robust and cost-effective 3D capturing device. With this device, so the intention, one will be able to reduce costs for 3D productions and especially 3DTV-Live broadcastings significantly, without reducing the performance or compromising the output.
Over a hundred 3D productions were brought from all over Europe to the DIMENSION 3 competition in Paris, the most important European competitive showcase for 3D films. On May 24, 2011, DIMMY‘S AWARDS were presented for seven categories in Paris, and two of these highly sought-after accolades were presented to KUK Filmproduktion GmbH.
The corporate film DIMENSIONS OF RESEARCH, produced for the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, won the BEST 3D CORPORATE FILM category, and the 3D FANTASTISCHEN VIER live concert was selected as BEST 3D LIVE AQCUISITION.
The 3D corporate film DIMENSIONS OF RESEARCH was given particular praise by the jury for its creative and innovative engagement with stereoscopic formats. The story is presented in 3D, meaning that the viewer experiences the world through the eyes of the scientists. The production came into being in co-operation with the PRIME research project (sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology).
The first 3D live broadcast of a FANTASTISCHEN VIER concert in 91 cinemas across 5 countries in perfect image and sound quality was a pioneering achievement, and tipped the scales for the DIMMY‘S TROPHY in the BEST 3D LIVE ACQUISITION category. As initiator and promotional representative for the INNOVATIONSFORUM 3D, Alexander Schaefer accepted the prize together with 3D director Josef Kluger.
